Acumem present at Swedish Multicore Day 2009

Uppsala, Sweden, September 4 2009: Acumem, a provider of intelligent software for single- and multi-core environments will be present at the Swedish Multicore Day

Multicore Day 2009 features leading international and Swedish experts from industry and academia, who will present the cutting edge of multicore computing technologies. Among the key note speakers are Richard Kaufmann (HP), Hazim Shafi (Microsoft) and Anders Landin (Sun).

Acumem has been heavily involved in the planning of the event through its CTO, Professor Erik Hagersten. Professor Hagersten will lead one of the panel debates but has also been responsible for inviting the Key note speakers. "The interest for the Multicore Day has been large, both from speakers and attendees" says Erik Hagersten, Professor of Computer Architecture, Uppsala University and CTO Acumem. "Last year the event was sold out and we have worked hard and successfully to put together an even more interesting agenda this time.”

Multicore Day 2009 is free of charge and is organized by the Swedish Multicore Initiative. About Acumem SlowSpotter/ThreadSpotter

SlowSpotter and ThreadSpotter identify an application’s slow spots, i.e., parts of the code which can be improved to run faster. For each slow spot, its location in the source code is identified, fixes for how it can be avoided is suggested and its overall importance for application improvement is presented. Through a user friendly User Interface hands on advice is given to the programmer on how to solve the performance issues identified.
